Vancouver is a wonderful place to live in, multicultural, entrepreneurial and with breathtaking natural beauty. And yet, its desirability has made the cost of living, and rents exorbitantly high. Young students, families and retired folk are finding it difficult to make ends meet.

Current policy is not working. Through zoning controls, taxes and red tape, government has often made new housing effectively illegal. When supply is stifled, price increases, and so do rents on all of us.

It´s time for a fresh approach. We should allow the supply of quality market housing to increase, while at the same time, invest in transportation and infrastructure. In this way, our city can grow and preserve its unique character and livability.

Through an inclusive, fiscally responsible approach to governance we can make change happen.

Thank you for your role, I look forward to your thoughts and input throughout this campaign.

Yours,

Julian
